Just kidding! Everybody likes candied bacon ice cream.

I think that’s pretty much like vegan kryptonite. :p
And yet, as a fat person, I do feel this weird pull to buy a gallon and stuff it in my face as fast as possible.

Have you seen Stuff White People Like? I am so tempted to start a humor blog, Stuff Fat People Like, but I know that it would be co-opted by trolls and such. Dammit.

A former colleague of mine just made some! (Even though she is TEENY, like a size 4 max.) She tried to fry it but it was gross.

Just the thought of this makes me want to hurl. I can’t look at the picture. Why ruin perfectly good ice cream with BACON?!?! Oh, the inhumanity!

attrice, I’m a’LOLin’ over here.
I have seen Stuff White People Like! That’s where I got the title idea. I even thought about “Stuff Fat People Like,” but I can’t see how to do it without delving immediately into just the stereotypes that we work so hard to dispel.
Okay, FJ, your former colleague’s bacon ice cream looks really good, and your former colleague is very funny. But what stood out for me on that post was that Paula Deen topped a burger with bacon and a fried egg AND PUT IT ON A KRISPY KREME DONUT. There’s not a lot of food out there that I won’t try, but the sight of the bacon double donut burger caused me actual physical pain. In my feelings area.

TARI you think that’s bad, look at what Crazy Ass Paul Deen did.

Although I have to say that I ADORE that she named that thing the “Lady’s Brunch Burger.”

I dunno about bacon ice cream, but there’s this bacon chocolate bar and it’s effing fantastic. Like sell your sainted grannie to get the money to buy them good. For me, there’s something amazing about the combination of smooth sweet crunchy salty savory.

The words “candied” and “bacon” should not meet. Evar! But the picture looks so delicious. I wonder if it’s too late to text my hubby to bring home some praline ice cream. And baby flavored donuts.

That frightens me a little haha.
I love bacon. And I love ice cream.. But not so sure about them together haha.

I love bacon, I love candy (of the chocolate persuasion) & I love ice cream (I just finished making a batch of homemade French vanilla, in fact), but not together. I have seen Paula do a burger with an egg on it before, on a regular hamburg roll, & I love bacon cheeseburgers, but old Paula does go a bit overboard at times. I really like to keep my burgers & my donuts separate. Of course, I am underprivileged; I live in Maine& we do not have Krispy Kremes. I enjoy Paula’s love of food, but always flinch when she is pushed to do a ‘healthy’ show & flinch even more when she shows very unnecessary guilt over some of the things she loves…such as when she said she loved bananas, but wouldn’t you know that her favorite fruit is the ‘most fattening’ one? Hey, Paula love, this is fresh fruit, it has a lot of good nutrients in it, back when I, like most American women, was learning calorie counts so that they stick in my mind for all eternity, I learned that an average sized apple has about 80 calories & an average sized banana has about 100, so let go of the guilt.
Someday, I am going to write Paula’s biography & the title will be, “Take A Stick of Butter”. But no bacon & egg burgers on Krispy Kremes, please, & no bacon ice cream. My tummy is churning at the very thought.

Actually, I meant to say that Paula…& the rest of us…should not feel guilty about any food & the whole ‘guilt’ thing & yapping about cooking ‘good, healthy’ things so that we do not feel ‘guilty’ is Rachael Ray’s thing. Of course, Paula gets a fair amount of hate mail, much shock & disapproval, over many of the recipes she does, so she is being helped along the road to food guilt.

It’s hard for me to imagine that Paula “Bacon Donut Burger” Deen feels guilty about anything, then then again I don’t really watch her show. She has this weird thing about anthropomorphizing her food that totally gets to me.
But Patsy, to tell you the truth… *looks around warily for southerners* Krispy Kreme donuts are totally overrated.

That donut burger is not unique to Paula Deen. But yes, it makes my guts twist just thinking about it. Nothing to do with diet sanctimoniousness, everything to do with IBS.

The Luther Burger! Named after Luther Vandross! I find that absolutely delightful. (The name, not the food. There’s only so far I can take the fatty savory/sugary sweet combo. Like, maple syrup that oozes from my pancakes to my sausage? Awesome. Chicken and waffles? Blarg.)
PS Paula Deen is still a complete kook.

True that. I don’t even care if the “Hot Donuts Now” sign is all lit up, it’s still just a freakin’ donut, people. (And yeah, I may still be bitter about some jackass ex-boyfriend’s need to cruise up and down Ponce until that damn sign came on.)
And Paula Deen is certifiable. Donuts: good. Burger: good. Eggs: good. Together? Not just no, but hell no. What is she smoking??

Okay, I can’t actually think about that mixture. But LOL! Hillarious post

Sure, Paula Deen is nuts. But she’s entertaining nuts. I love her show, even if I’d never cook anything she makes. (My stomach doesn’t tolerate that kind of food any more, one of the drawbacks of being over 35 I guess).
And…bacon ice cream? That’s all kinds of wrong in my book. I love bacon, and I love ice cream, but please, not together.
And the first time I tried a Krispy Kreme after moving to the South…I was like “Is that all there is?” This was the thing that was promoted to me as being like the taste-bud version of an orgasm. I’ve had better donuts, and more satisfying food experiences…
